When you’re established and also seen as respectable professionals by the company then the manager will probably move out of the main dorm and let you live your life (kinda). When they’re rookies who are both young in career and life it’s important to have a responsible person to make sure everything goes correctly in the dorm. In terms of living with managers, I think that’s all dependent on how senior the group is. Again, it’s all dependent on how much demand there is for a group and artist. Sometimes managers will even be the ones in charge of finding and booking gigs for the idols. Different managers have different roles, some are in charge of just driving and others act as business managers. It all depends on how popular the idol or group is, if there’s enough demand for solo activity then there will be a 1 to 1 ratio or maybe even more managers than idols. You could watch that to see what some of them do. I haven’t watched it but there’s also a reality show that follows idols and their managers called The Managers: ![]() it’s not a 9-5 job where you can go home at the end of the day. I reckon it’s a stressful job regardless of who you work for because you’re on call for most of the day aka you’re there with the idol for long hours, up at odd hours, etc. They drive idols to their schedules, act as body guards, help them film behind the scenes content, act as a point of contact between other industry entertainers and their companies.
